Ryley Borrow, 8, and his brother Baylee, 10, decided to do Jump Rope for Heart to raise money in memory of their grandad who died from heart disease.
The campaign sees students pick up their skipping ropes to raise funds for the Heart Foundation with Jump Rope for Heart being one of the longest-running physical activity programs in Australian schools.
Ryley said his class was pretty good at skipping and were learning tricks like the double-dutch, a skill which involves two ropes.
But he did confess that his brother Baylee is talented with the skipping rope, even more so than him.
"We get to save hearts and save lives," Ryley said.
"My class usually skips for 40 minutes and we have trick cards to try out."
Raymond Terrace Public School has already raised more than $1800 in online funds and still has three weeks of fund-raising to go.
