Four competed in the rescue section and two in dance.
Rescue requires students to program an autonomous robot to navigate around obstacles and rescue a victim from an oil spill.
The students discovered the rules had changed and they had to grab the 'victim' with a device and remove it from the oil spill.
At the regional level the students only had to push the victim out.
They quickly modified and reprogrammed their robots.
The two secondary teams were neck and neck for first and second place all day.
Unfortunately, in the finals, the team Arduinosaurus lost a point and ended up coming in fourth place.
The team Generic won the state finals for secondary rescue.
Dance is where students who are beginning to program, program a robot to dance to music and they themselves become part of the props required for the performance.
Disco Ducks performed well at state.
The two dance and Generic team is now eligible to attend the nationals in Brisbane later this month, and they are looking for sponsorship.
A fund-raiser will be held at All Saints Anglican Church on September 21 at 2pm. The students have put together an afternoon tea for $10 a person which will include a fashion show, entertainment and neck massages.
