The ninth annual Wildside Festival will kick off on Friday and wind down on Sunday.

A full schedule of activities, entertainment and stalls have been lined up for this year’s festival, which is aimed at bringing community members and groups together.

‘‘It [festival] is also a way for us to celebrate the environment of Hawks Nest,’’ said festival organiser Ian Morphett.

Golf on the Wildside, to be played at Hawks Nest Golf Club from 8am on Friday, will start the festivities.

A range of community groups will have a display at the Hawks Nest Community Hall, found on the corner of Booner Street, on Saturday.

The Rural Fire Service, Myall Community Art and Craft group, National Parks and Wildlife Service, Tea Gardens Lionesses and visitor information centre will each have a stall in the car park.

Inside the hall, a photography competition and art will be on exhibition.

The Myall U3A Choir, Tea Gardens school and community choir and St Joseph’s Primary School choir will perform from 12.30pm on the Saturday. Refreshments will be served by the Red Cross and Lions Club.

A bike ride and bush walk on Sunday will wind down the festival.
