But if you do need a reason then why not head to Nelson Bay Golf Club on October 9 for the Rotary Club of Salamander Bay's annual golf day.
Now in it's fifth year, funds raised from the Rotary golf day go to buying essential medical equipment for the Tomaree Community Hospital.
"We always give what we raise to the hospital," the Rotary club's Peter Ridgeway said.
"Last year we raised $12,000."
That money enabled the hospital to buy an ultrasound machine and ventilator with past donations.
The golf day has a noon shotgun start.
Entry forms are now available from Ridgeway by phoning 0404 049 798.
The cost is $80 per person in a team of four.
Forms and the team's money must be paid to the club by October 4.
Auctions and raffles will be held on the day.
Port Stephens Toyota, a major sponsor of the day, has a car to give away to the winner of the hole in one competition.
