In August the group found all its placards campaigning against a development at 600 Seaham Road, Nelsons Plains, were being vandalised or removed.
The group asked residents via an article the Examiner to be vigilant and keep an eye out for the vandals.
Within days of printing a story two people were allegedly caught in the act of removing the placards along Seaham Road at Nelsons Plains.
The Examiner can reveal some of the details of the police report on the incident which occurred on August 28.
Police say that about 8am a 55-year-old Nelson Plains man was driving on his own property with his 15-year-old son when they spotted a car parked on the road near their front gate.
They investigated and reported seeing a man on a ladder next to a tree, using a battery-operated hand grinder to cut down one of the group's campaign signs.
Another man was filming the sign removal and at this point the 15-year-old also started filming.
The report says the 55-year-old got out of the car and demanded the man up the tree stop what he was doing.
An argument ensued. Both parties allege a physical fight broke out, but it was not on either video recording.
Police were called and determined everyone could be charged with affray.
The father and son from Nelsons Plains and the two other men, a 52-year- old from East Maitland and a Wallalong man, 21, chose not to press charges.
According to Katrina Griffin from Save Our Land there has been no more reported placard vandalism and the campaign is continuing.
Well-known developer Hilton Grugeon is behind the proposal, with revised plans lodged with Port Stephens Council in August.
