Each year Newcastle Permanent employees complete about 1000 volunteer hours as part of the business' community focus.
Five staff from the new Medowie branch headed out to Riding for the Disabled in September to lend a hand with the horses and to work in the organisation's sensory garden.
Riding for the Disabled at Raymond Terrace provides assisted activities, such as horse riding, for those with disabilities as a way to develop physical and social skills.
"It was beautiful to watch everyone interact with the animals," regional manager Lyn Crosdale said.
The Medowie branch on Peppertree Road opened on Thursday, September 25, with a ribbon cutting and official ceremony.
