At Valvoline Raceway in Sydney on Saturday, October 11, Bink, a two-time Australian champion, came third in the A-main race of the premier speedway sedan class for late models.

"I got whacked a bit in the main race and dropped to eighth but came back up to second," Bink said.

"I ended up placing third for the night.

"Any night of the week we can place in the top five is a win.

"But for the first race in my second season of the pro league, and with limited race experience, to come third is really good."

Bink began speedway racing at 21, starting out in the street stocks.

Now, at 35, he is competing in the premier league and juggles full-time racing with full-time work and family life.

At the track on Saturday, Bink was joined by wife Michelle and children Cooper, 5, and Hayden, 2.
