The all-male choir was invited to sing at the Chris Walking Theatre, located on the St Philip's Christian College campus in Salamander Bay, by the Tomaree Prostate Cancer Support Group.
The group's president, Iain Woodhill, said the one-off performance was to raise awareness about prostate cancer as well as funds.
"The proceeds are going towards three pain management machines for the new hospice being developed at Harbourside Haven [retirement village]," Woodhill said.
The Sydney Male Choir was founded in 1913, based on men joining together in harmony and singing for pleasure.
From humble beginnings to one century on, the choir has become one of the most respected male voice choirs in Australia.
Each year since 1930, the choir has led the Anzac Day Dawn Service at the cenotaph in Martin Place, Sydney.
The choir will perform in Salamander Bay from 2pm on October 19.
Tickets cost $35, available from the Nelson Bay tourism information centre at Victoria Parade or by phoning 4980 6900.
