The Raymond Terrace man has been supporting South Sydney for more than 50 years and has copped a fair amount of ribbing from his friends during the team's 43-year premiership drought.
Mr Coles has also been holding on to a Rabbitohs premiership plaque which has all the team's 21 wins since 1908.
There is one space left on the plaque and Mr Coles has been waiting to fill it, finally able to get it engraved this year after the South Sydney victory.
"I was very excited when they won," he said.
Mr Coles is a member of Lemon Tree Passage Bowling Club and regularly puts up with his mates calling his favourite team "the chokers" due to past performances.
He was looking forward to the next game of bowls so he could finally gloat of his team's superiority, and he has a set of Rabbitohs bowls to take along.
Once the plaque is engraved it will take pride of place on his wall of Bunnies merchandise.
