Which is exactly what Daryl Braithwaite will do this Friday, October 31, when he stops at Wests Nelson Bay Diggers.
Braithwaite is perhaps best known as the lead vocalist of Australian band Sherbet.
However, he has also had a successful solo career, placing 15 singles in the Australian top 40 music charts, including the No. 1 hits You're My World and The Horses.
Far from an exercise in revisiting past glories and greatest hits, Forever the Tourist reveals a brand new chapter in Braithwaite's career.
The centrepiece of the new album is Not Too Late.
"We've been playing Not Too Late live and it's been getting a surprisingly good reception, considering the audiences don't know it," Braithwaite said.
Throughout the mini-album, filled with just seven tracks, the mood is vibrant.
"I guess I still look at life in a positive way," Braithwaite said.
"I have my son Oscar who is 27, I am happy with my life and don't have that many qualms or troubles - as yet.
"The songs mainly are trying to reflect that positivity."
Tickets, available from westsnewcastle.com.au or by phoning 4981 1344, cost $35 for club members and $40 for non-members.
The Examiner has one double pass to give away to the show, which starts at 8pm.
To win, send your name and contact details in an email titled "Daryl" to ewatts@fairfaxmedia.com.au.
The winner will be notified by 12pm on Friday, October 31.
