Step Up 2014 will kick off at the Bulahdelah War Memorial Trust Hall, on Crawford Street, from 7pm tonight, Thursday.
It gives artists from the area the chance to show off their works, including paintings, sculptures, ceramics, musical instruments, woodcraft, photography and embroidery.
“There are many talented people hidden away in this area,’’ the exhibition’s organiser, Jeff Carryer, said.
“The exhibition provides an opportunity for local artists to ‘step up’ and showcase their works.”
The exhibition will open with a premier preview tonight.
Tickets cost $25 a person, which includes gourmet finger food, wine and a chance to mingle with the artists.
It will then open to the public on Friday, between 10am and 4pm, and run across the weekend to coincide with the Bulahdelah Rock Rattle ‘n’ Roll, finishing on Sunday.
The exhibition will also include demonstrations of artisan crafts such as boat building and luthiery.
Preview tickets are available from Jeff Carryer on 0413133511.
All proceeds go to the Bulahdelah War Memorial Trust Hall and the Great Lakes Nursing Home.
General admission is a gold coin donation.
