The Electronic Housing Code (EHC), developed by the NSW Department of Planning and Infrastructure, has been launched among NSW councils including the Great Lakes.
Available on the council’s website, it allows customers to see if their proposal is exempt from planning approval, will require a complying development certificate, or a formal development application.
‘‘If your proposal is classified as exempt or complying, then the EHC will assist you through the planning process,’’ council section 149 planner Adam Fardell said.
The online system will assist users to prepare and lodge a complying DA online. Users can then generate an exempt or complying development report. Benefits to the council include improved consistency and streamlining of complying DA processes.
