Remembrance Day services will be held at the Tea Gardens, Bulahdelah and Kaurah war memorials from 11am on November 11.
This year’s Remembrance Day marks the 96th anniversary of the Armistice which ended WWI.
Tea Gardens RSL sub-branch president Barry Whiteman said predicting people’s attendance was always tricky.
Some years hundreds turn out while others, only a handful.
However, he hoped more people would attend Tuesday’s service than they did last year.
‘‘Last year we got about 50 [people],’’ he said.
For five years a service has also been held at the Peter Sinclair Gardens, operated by RSL Lifecare.
‘‘The sub-branch members go there and have a quiet service with a few member residents,’’ Mr Whiteman said.
The Peter Sinclair Gardens service will be held on Monday, November 10.
Karuah RSL sub-branch president Peter Fidden expected between 150 and 200 people to turn out to its Memorial Park service on Tuesday.
‘‘With the service being through the week we’ll probably be down on numbers this year,’’ he said.
‘‘But I think we should get 150, 200 people.’’
That will include at least four WWII veterans and a number of Korea and Vietnam War returnees.
Bulahdelah will have two services this year. The RSL sub-branch Remembrance Day service on Tuesday starts at 11am at the Meade Street war memorial.
A second service, by the Bulahdelah War Memorial Trust, is from 2pm Saturday, November 15, during the town’s annual show.
