Combined, the two organisations will receive more than half of the most recent allotment of funds, worth $26,000, to support their Anzac centenary projects next year.
The trust was granted $14,000 to establish a memorial garden next to its Crawford Street hall, hold a commemorative exhibition and a dedication service.
The plans come on top of the trust also restoring the Bulahdelah district 1914-1918 soldiers’ memorial gates, which will be dedicated at a memorial service at Bulahdelah Showground on November 15.
The sub-branch was granted $4132 which will be used to produce a commemorative booklet dedicated to the soldiers from the Karuah area that fought and died in WWI.
Sub-branch president Peter Fidden said the book was in its draft stages waiting for publishing and would be available to Karuah residents before the Anzac Day service.
The other recipients of funds were Maitland Grossman High School and Tilligerry RSL sub-branch.
Across the country $125,000 has been made available to each federal electorate for community and ex-service groups to spend on commemorative programs.
“So far, the Paterson area has now received $26,540 of the allocation, including the recently announced Forster-Tuncurry Lone Pine Memorial Park project,’’ Paterson MP Bob Baldwin said.
‘‘I look forward to revealing more of these local projects as they are approved.”
