WOW day was on November 12, with a focus on encouraging the community to show their support for the SES by wearing the colour orange.
According to SES local controller Alan Williams, the Port Stephens community showed great support for this year's WOW Day - making it a resounding success.
Paddy Platypus, the SES mascot, entertained children in appearances at Raymond Terrace MarketPlace, Woolworths and Masters.
The SES managed to raise almost $1250 through a barbecue and raffle sales, with the prizes being donated by Masters.
"Without the generous support of the community, we would not have a State Emergency Service," Mr Williams said.
"The Port Stephens SES wish to thank all those people who supported WOW Day."
SES volunteers have a passion for helping people in the worst of weather and at the hardest of times, helping with storm and flood operations and other rescue activities.
Coming up to the storm season WOW day was a good opportunity for the community to not only get behind the SES but to also meet some of the volunteers.
