PORT Stephens police hope a woman who was jogging in Shoal Bay Saturday morning can help with their inquiries into a child being approached.

Police said a 14 year old girl was walking along Tomaree Road at Shoal Bay about 8.20am on December 20 when a man called out to her.
The girl continued to walk and saw that the man had moved closer towards her.
As the man continued to try and draw her in conversation he moved towards her.
Police said a female jogger approached the pair and the man turned away and left.
The girl reported the matter a short time later and police were informed.
Police were called and launched an investigation, doing a search of the area.
Investigators are keen to speak to the woman jogger who may be able to provide additional information about the incident.
As they continue their inquiries, police would like to speak to a man who may be able to assist them with their inquiries.
He is described as being of Caucasian appearance, between 20 and 25 years old with short light brown hair. He was between 170cm and 175cm tall wearing a t-shirt, shorts and thongs.
