Rebecca Delaporte, acting manager for Breast Screen NSW Hunter New England, said about 1800 women were screened in the bus, which was parked at Soldiers Point Bowling Club during November and December.
"The demand for this service by women meant we had to bring an additional mobile screen bus to Port Stephens this year," Ms Delaporte said.
The number of screenings booked had been the most for 2014, she said.
In 2013 the organisation screened 1600 women and the year before 1500.
Ms Delaporte believed the rise in women getting an examination was due to community support and awareness.
"It was very pleasing the local paper, the Port Stephens Examiner, supported the Tomaree Musical Theatre Company's public show, Breast Wishes," she said.
"The community strongly supported the Tomaree Musical Theatre Company by attending and in turn supporting the breast screen bus," Ms Delaporte said.
About $500 was raised by organisers of Breast Wishes, which was donated to Breast Screen NSW Hunter New England.
Some of the money raised was through the bra decorating competition, which was won by Robyn Leslie of Beresfield.
The musical theatre company is still looking for the second place winners of the competition - women who only entered as Judy and Shirley.
Phone the Tomaree Musical Theatre Company's Jen Rossi on 0414 597 636.
Ms Delaporte said the donation would go to buying equipment for the buses.
