This is not true as funding has been made available to the park over many years.
The recent sightings of koalas in the park beg us to stop any development and learn how we can best protect and enhance their environment.
Research indicates if we continue to care for the natural environment of the park then their numbers will increase.
Another listed vulnerable species in our park is the grey-crowned babbler. Clearing of the land for residential purposes will further threaten this little bird which relies on the natural woodlands in the park.
We must stop the development and as a community find ways of working together with other groups, organisations and government to resource and care for the area.
Saving it will create opportunities for us and future generations to discover and celebrate the beautiful wildlife we have in the centre of our town.
