Great Lakes Mayor Jan McWilliams will welcom the local government area's newest Australia citizens and present awards to the E-Calendar School Competition winners.
Cr McWilliams would then announce winners of the Sportsperson of the Year, Young Citizen of the Year and Citizen of the Year.
With 2015 marking the 100th anniversary of the Anzac landings at Gallipoli, the Mayor's Award, which recognises the people who have contributed to community wellbeing, will shine a spotlight groups and associations involved with caring for those involved in the war effort during the years.
Recipients of the Mayor's Award will include the Korean War Veterans, Stroud National Servicemen’s Association, Darawank War Memorial Park Volunteers, Great Lakes National Servicemen’s Association, War Widows Guild, Tea Gardens-Hawks Nest Red Cross, Booral Soldiers Memorial Hall Committee, Forster Tuncurry RSL Sub-Branch, Coolongolook and District Memorial Hall, Forster Tuncurry Legacy, Forster Tuncurry Legacy Laurel Club, Tea Gardens RSL Sub-Branch, Trustees Tuncurry Memorial Hall, Forster Red Cross, Vietnam Veterans Association, Bulahdelah RSL Sub-Branch and Bulahdelah War Memorial Trust.
