On top of a wide range of Australia Day activities organised for Raymond Terrace, Nelson Bay, Karuah and the Tilligerry Peninsula, entertainers will be performing in venues right across the Port.
Murray's Brewery at Bobs Farm will launch its first ever Australian IPA craft beer, Lamb-borghini. The brewery will also have live entertainment across the weekend and thong throwing competitions.
The limited release of the beer, created by Bobs Farm brewers, would be matched to a series of food specials prepared by the restaurant team, also themed around lamb.
There will be free concerts of great Aussie tunes from noon on Saturday and Sunday.
The Port's own vocalist Cathy Cannon will entertain on Saturday while Aaron Hood will put on an interactive performance on Sunday.
Each afternoon there will be thong throwing competitions for both children and adults with prizes.
Brewery tours will be held daily at 2.15pm. To book a tour, or for more information, call 4982 6411 or visit murraysbrewingco.com.au. Activities will go ahead rain, hail or shine.
At Vues on the Bay on Monday, January 26 Austen Tayshus will put on a one-off performance.
Austen Tayshus is the stage name of Jewish Australian comedian Alexander Jacob Gutman.
He is best known for the 1983 comedy single Australiana, a spoken word piece filled with Australian puns which became, and remains, Australia’s best-selling single ever.
Austen Tayshus’s Nelson Bay comedy gig will be his only performance in the area.
Catch him at Vues on the Bay on Australia Day from 3pm.
Tickets cost $30, available from the bar.
Jack Daniels and Co will perform at d'Albora Marinas between noon and 3pm on Monday. Also at the Nelson Bay marina will be the roaming Croc Stars reptile show between 10.30am and 2.30pm.
James Naldo will perform at the Port Stephens Country Club in Shoal Bay and Rock Oz will give Raymond Terrace a show when they hit the stage at Riverside Park.
