"The day focuses on plenty of entertainment and children's activities," organiser Brian Hartley said.
"We want the whole family to come along and enjoy the festivities."
A huge day of fun, music and adventure is at Henderson Park in Lemon Tree Passage, located right on the waterfront.
The Lions club have been organising the peninsula's day since its inception.
What started out as just a barbecue to celebrate the nation's day has grown each year since, now attracting a crowd of anywhere between 350 to 400 people to Henderson Park.
On Monday, food will be available from 8am to 11.30am, including a barbecue and the ever- popular dampers together with hot and cold drinks.
Some of the live bands to perform throughout the day include the Hunter Ramblers Band, singer-entertainer Trish Hart, the Port Stephens Community Choir and other invited guest artists.
Competitions will also be run throughout the morning.
Henderson Park provides plenty of shelter.
However, the organising committee recommends visitors take along their own chairs and rugs.
