Sentry said anyone who heads along to his gig at The Cambridge Hotel on March 12 could expect to be blown away.
"I've got a new song and we've just redesigned a whole new set," he said.
"We've re-mixed the beats for the show, something I've wanted to do for ages."
Sentry is regarded as one of Australia's premier rappers, with an iconic voice as warm and familiar as a hug from an old mate.
Sentry has been writing and recording his next album, and the first single, Run, is Sentry at his best.
In the song he reflects on his childhood as a bored kid growing up and getting into trouble in a small town.
With Run comes his first national headline tour for 2015, covering all major cities, including Newcastle.
Sentry said Run would be on the cards for the gig on March 12, as would some of the old favourites including The Waitress Song, My Scene, Float Away and Dear Science, all of which received significant airplay on Australian national radio station Triple J.
Tickets for Sentry's show at The Cambridge Hotel, available from bigtix.com.au, cost $33.80.
The Examiner has one double pass to give away to the show, which starts at 8pm.
