Communications Minister Malcolm Turnbull confirmed on Tuesday that $400,000 had been set aside to support broadcasters to improve television coverage in the Port area.
The funding, according to Paterson MP Bob Baldwin, is subject to being matched dollar for dollar by the transmission company, Regional Broadcasting Australia Holdings (RBAH).
"I am disappointed that RBAH are yet to submit their proposal, despite repeated assurances and timeframes that were set and failed to be delivered," Mr Baldwin said.
Mr Baldwin said broadcasters were obliged under the Act to provide equal or better television reception than what what was provided under analogue.
Mr Baldwin has campaigned heavily on the issue since his 2013 federal election win, while the issue remains among the most contentious for Examiner readers.
