A PORT taekwondo club has become the proud holder of a massive seven world titles after competing at the international all styles championships held in Melbourne.

Members of Imugi Taekwondo club, which has bases in Medowie and Glen Oak, performed well above expectations by winning a pool of medals.
Instructor Kelly O'Brien, who collected world titles in black belt forms and point sparring, said it was a tremendous achievement.
"We are over the moon with the results and very proud of all our competitors," said O'Brien, who operates the club with her partner and chief instructor Tony Gillespie.
Gillespie won silver medals in both open black belt continuous sparring and points sparring.
Jeannie-belle Mason, aged 17, took out the 15-17 years kyu forms and continuous sparring titles, while 14-year-old Hugh Higgins is the world champion in the 12-14 years kyu point sparring.
Ten-year-old Mia Gillespie won gold in the 10-11yrs kyu forms and point sparring events, and Chase Thoburn, 13, finished in the top five in black belt forms, point sparring and open continuous sparring.
The club trains at Medowie's Ferodale Oval clubhouse every Wednesday night.
