This month, during the 100th year of Anzac commemorations, Port residents can own a piece of that history with the Plant Trade Nursery at Bobs Farm selling plants that stem from the Gallipoli rosemary bush.
All proceeds made from the sale of the commemoration rosemary from the Plant Trade Nursery, official stockist of the plant, will go to the Avenues of Honour 1915-2015 project. The charity looks to document, preserve and restore Australian avenues of honour and to plan and establish new ones.
Nursery owners Amy and Steve Cuneo hope to sell 500 plants and raise $3000 for the project.
The couple is offering anyone from outside of the area wishing to buy a plant the opportunity to donate it to a Port Stephens school. Plants can also be posted.
