The sapling, brought to the school from Canberra, was donated by Squadron Leader Maurice Hall to commemorate the Centenary of Anzac.
SQNLDR Hall, who is about to deploy overseas, was assisted in planting the pine in the school grounds by his sons, Mitchell (year 7) and Ben (year 3).
"We have lived in the Bay area for eight years. I thought it would be something special for both our family and the school community," SQNLDR Hall said.
Defence Support Transition aide Debra Mould said the pine was planted close to the high school's agricultural plot.
"Eventually the area will be turned into a garden symbolising the Centenary of the Anzacs. We are grateful to the Hall family for their generous donation."
A lone pine was to be planted at Mt Kanwary Public School this Friday as part of Anzac centenary activities.
