The women’s side defeated Wyong Lakes 2.7.19 to 0.3.3 on Saturday to maintain their 100 per cent rating alongside Newcastle City.
Goals were at a premium with the first only coming late in the first quarter.
The Magpies made a late charge but were unable to get the goals they needed which enabled the Marlins to remain unbeaten from three matches.
Player-coach Lauren Cooper played a strong game, as did Sophie Balcombe and Emma Chester.
In first division, the men’s premier side were defeated by Terrigal Avoca 15.14.104 to 6.2.38.
Nelson Bay were now fourth on the ladder behind Killarney Vale, Newcastle City and the undefeated Terrigal Avoca.
In second division, the Marlins men’s team also posted a victory.
Nelson Bay defeated Cardiff 7.11.53 to 6.8.44.
This weekend the premier men’s side are on the road again to Warner Bay.
Second division would face Wyong Lakes on the Central Coast and the women would travel to Warners Bay.
