The area's quick recovery after last month's cyclonic storms is due mainly to Corlette Parks Reserves and Landcare group volunteers Dennis and Jan Wells.
"We like to keep ourselves active.
"Joining the Landcare group when we retired here three years ago was a great way to get to make new friends," said Mr Wells.
"We regularly like to spend some time keeping the parks and reserves clean but we had never seen such devastation after the storm.
"So we put on our gloves and with brooms, rakes and shovels began clearing the debris for the council trucks to mulch and take away."
Landcare group secretary Margaret Wilkinson said that the retired Corlette couple had cleared most of the smaller storm debris from the reserves and cycleway.
"In the weeks before the storm, they had worked on removing invading weeds from the edges of the cycleway," Mrs Wilkinson said.
"They keep themselves active along the foreshore area as well as helping out at working bees in other parts of Corlette and with our Baggies Bush Regen Landcare group which works along [the] Bartlett cycleway."
Mrs Wells also volunteers her time one day a week working at Marlin House at the Tomaree Community Hospital.
