Cr Le Mottee's claim that the Greens spokeswoman Rochelle Flood's comments were "complete nonsense" is itself, complete nonsense.
Nowhere did Ms Flood say that every tree was sacrosanct or that koalas should be put before the safety of residents and their homes.
Ms Flood said the Greens "supported a full and rational assessment of council's tree policy" - not a knee-jerk reaction by mayor Bruce MacKenzie to push through his preferred option, which he has failed to do before.
I would like to know on what information Cr Le Mottee bases his statement that "for every tree that fell during the last storm there were another 10 pushed to breaking point"?
Only assessment by a qualified arborist can give a good idea of this, and I doubt that has been done yet, even a qualified arborist can't give a 100 per cent guarantee.
So is Cr Le Mottee suggesting that all trees that may be a hazard should be removed?
