Raymond Terrace, and wider area, is no longer just a small country town and I find it disgraceful that in 2015 public transport is still so lacking that on Sunday night, the eve of a public holiday, there were no late night buses available and, to my knowledge, only one taxi rostered on in the whole of the Maitland/Raymond Terrace locality.
I understand that a normal Sunday night would probably see insignificant numbers requiring the services of a taxi, however on a long weekend, when people are taking advantage of time off work and trying to do the right thing by not driving under the influence, one would expect additional taxis to be rostered to cater for (what should of been expected) increased numbers.
After calling the taxi service at 12pm and being told it wouldn't be long, I was disappointed with the three-hour wait that followed.
Leaving people waiting for three hours for a taxi and the fact that Raymond Terrace still does not offer any decent public transport is definitely not acceptable.
