The club will take advantage of all three grades - women's, reserve and premier - playing at Dick Burwell Oval on June 27 to raise funds for Breast Cancer Network Australia.

As part of its pink sports day, each player will wear pink and supporters to the game are also encouraged to wear the colour to help the club raise funds for the network.

"All the players will wear pink socks," club secretary Kylie Clayden said.

"We're encouraging supporters to wear pink on the day.

"We will be selling cakes and lollies and will have raffles and donation tins at the ground on the day.

"We will also have information available on the day from local cancer support groups in the Port Stephens area and people representing them."

The network's chief executive officer, Christine Nolan, said pink sports day allowed sporting communities to raise awareness and support for women with breast cancer.

"By taking part in pink sports day, the Nelson Bay Marlins are helping to ensure their local women know they are not alone in their breast cancer journey, whilst also raising awareness of the support services available," Nolan said.

The women's game kicks off at 10.30am, the reserves at noon and premier division at 2pm.

Nelson Bay's premier side is sitting fifth on the ladder, reserves seventh and the women are at the top of their ladder.

This weekend Nelson Bay's premier side faces bottom placed Cardiff at Dick Burwell Oval.

Reserves play Wyong Lakes and the women face Warners Bay - both at home.
