The art show will be held at the Raymond Terrace Seniors Citizens Hall between August 14 and 16.
The Raymond Terrace Arts and Craft group took on organising the show in 2014 after it folded the year before.
"We didn't want to lose the show," president Eric Dates said.
"It was quite successful last year but it will be a bit bigger this year.
"We've done fairly well in attracting a few extra prizes."
Entries are open until August 3 for Port Stephens artists to enter their work into one of the seven sections.
The eighth section is the people's choice award.
For adults, each entry costs $10 and for high-school aged students $5.
Forms are available from Mr Dates by phoning 4987 3449.
This year the show has been opened up to four Port Stephens primary schools.
Raymond Terrace, Irrawang, Grahamstown and St Brigid's primary schools, who were recipients of the funds raised from last year's show, were invited to enter 16 artworks each to show in the schools award section.
The judge this year is artist Marcia Rae.
Paintings will be hung between 10am and 2pm on August 14 and the opening held from 6.30pm.
The cost is $10, payable at the door on the night. It includes entertainment and light refreshments.
The hall, in Irrawang Street, will be open 9am to 4pm on August 15 and 16 for people to view the exhibition. The cost is a gold coin donation.
