Tamboi Queen Cruises has had a 99 per cent success rate for seeing whales on its tours.
"They have been very active with double breaching, tail lobbing and coming up close to the vessels," said Meghan Richardson from Tamboi.
On Thursday, June 25, Tamboi captain Jared Aldrich came across a humpback whale and her new calf just off Fingal Island.
Mr Aldrich said in the 13 years he had spent on the water, he had never seen a calf so early in the season.
Not content with just swimming by, the whale and calf swam up to the boat.
Marine rescue and research organisation ORCCA said it sighted 25 whales drift past Anna Bay on Friday, June 26.
Whales and dolphins were also a big talking point off the water last week.
On Saturday whale talks were held at Fingal Bay, on Sunday the annual dolphin census was held and on Monday the highly popular human whale event was held at Shoal Bay Beach.
About 20,000 whales are expected to make their way through the Port's waters this season.
