Students from Irrawang, Raymond Terrace, Grahamstown and Wirreanda public schools plus Irrawang and Hunter River high schools will each put on a performance in Raymond Terrace MarketPlace throughout Education Week.
Send your Education Week photos into the Examiner. If you snap photos of students taking part in Education Week activities, send them in via Facebook or to ewatts@fairfaxmedia.com.au. Picture will be added to an online gallery.
Education Week runs Monday, July 27 to Friday, July 31. It is a week to celebrate the achievements and successes of students, teachers and support staff across all NSW public schools and would culminate with an awards ceremony at Hunter River High School on August 5.
As well as performing at various times and days at MarketPlace next week, there would be a showcase of students' talents on show on July 28 and 29.
"Showcase is a major event of the Lakeside learning community," said Lue Fagan, community liaison officer at Irrawang High School.
"It runs over two evenings involving students from Irrawang High, Wirreanda, Medowie, Grahamstown and Irrawang public schools.
"Students perform to an audience of approximately 1000 guests and are provided with an opportunity to perform with professional lighting and sound."
Both shows, in Irrawang High School's hall, start at 6pm. Tickets, available from the school, cost $10 for adults, $5 concession or school-aged children and $25 for a family of four.
Anna Bay Public School will also hold a showcase on July 30 and 31.
Parents, carers and grandparents were invited to the school on one or both days. The sessions would begin at 9.15am and finish at 11.20am. The showcase would begin the hall, followed by visits to the classrooms and library.
Complimentary coffee and tea will be available. There is no cost.
As part of Education Week, students from Bobs Farm Public School will take over the radio waves of Port Stephens Fm from 9.30am on Tuesday, take part in a Department of Primary Industries "get hooked it's fun to fish" workshop on Wednesday and a disco on Friday.
Principal Megan Elliott said Port identity John "Stinker" Clarke would join students at Taylors Beach for the sustainable fishing workshop.
