Cassar-Daley said that anyone who enjoyed his previous Port shows would be in for plenty of fun when he played at Wests Nelson Bay Diggers on Thursday, August 6.
"This is going to be double the fun," he said.
"I love playing live and this show is full of warmth and laughter."
Cassar-Daley, who has earned 26 Golden Guitars during his 20 year music career, released his 13th album in March this year called Freedom Ride.
"This project was such a labour of love for me," he said.
The album, featuring collaborations with Australian singer-songwriters Paul Kelly and Jimmy Barnes, is made up of 12 songs that Cassar-Daley said were each individual stories.
"I loved co-writing with old friends again on this album and the themes we looked at stretched from one end of the country to another," he said.
"There are a lot of people's lives woven through these tunes and I hope they use this collection of songs as a mirror and see themselves in a few of the stories I've touched on."
The title track, Freedom Ride, pays tribute to Charles Perkins who, in 1965, led a group of university students on a bus tour through western and coastal NSW towns to highlight the poor state of Aboriginal health, education and housing.
"Charlie was a hero to me. He talked about equality, and improving lives and conditions of indigenous Australians in the rural regions and cities," Cassar-Daley said. "Paul and I wrote this small version of what must have been a huge adventure for the freedom riders."
Tickets to see Cassar-Daley at Diggers are $35 for members, $40 non-members, from westsnewcastle.com.au or 4981 1344.
The Examiner has one double pass to the show, which starts at 8pm, and the Freedom Ride album to give away.
To win the pass and album, send your name and contact details in an email titled "Freedom" to ewatts@ fairfaxmedia.com.au. The winner will be notified by 5pm on Wednesday, August 5.
