Aren't we talking about trees that are threatening or a danger to people's home environment?
Gum trees have a finite life and they are not a static problem, sometimes growing by metres in a season.
As they become older and increase their exposure to the elements they also become weaker, as witnessed by our current super storm devastation in April.
We are all green at heart, but we should let common sense prevail over emotion.
Sensible native trees should be planted around homes instead of introduced forest timbers.
Lemon Tree Passage was so named because of the original proliferation of the native bush lemon, now eclipsed by introduced towering forest timbers.
