Ms Humphreys, from Raymond Terrace, has entered her handpainted teapots and coffee mugs into the annual Morpeth Weird and Wonderful Tea Party and Tea Cosy Challenge since its inception more than 20 years ago.
She also demonstrates teapot and mug painting throughout the exhibition, which kicks off at Morpeth Gallery today, August 20, and winds down August 30.
"Between 10am and 5pm I sit there and demonstrate painting," she said.
"A lot of people like to come and watch."
Ms Humphreys said she has always been able to draw but only took up a paintbrush about 45 years ago, after her daughters were born.
Inspired by the Manning River bush area she grew up in, Ms Humphreys began painting wildflowers, which she has become well known for in art circles.
She also paints a variety of birds on cups, mugs and teapots, which she exhibits in the Morpeth show each year.
The novelty tea cosy competition attracts about 250 entries each year with about 500 cosies featured in the display.
