The 25-year-old man is accused of running from police after a car he was travelling as a passenger in was stopped in Port Stephens Street, Raymond Terrace on September 24.
Inside the vehicle police allegedly found two .22 calibre rifles and ammunition.
Following inquiries, police attended a residence in Troman Parade, Raymond Terrace about 7am on Wednesday, October 7.
After speaking to its occupants, police searched an adjoining premises where they found the 25 year old hiding in a cupboard.
Police arrested the man.
Both premises were searched with police allegedly locating property believed to have been stolen as well as items consistent with the attempted manufacture of a firearm.
Officers also allegedly located a shotgun round and pellets, and other prohibited items including a laser pointer.
The 25 year old was taken to Raymond Terrace Police Station where he was charged with numerous offences including the revocation of parole warrant, goods in custody, two counts of possession of unregistered firearm in public place and two counts of possess shortened firearm.
The man was also charged with breach firearms prohibition order, custody of a knife in public place, possess ammunition without holding license, unlawful entry on enclosed lands, possession of firearms part, converting fireman and possess prohibited weapon for the laser pointer.
He was refused bail in Raymond Terrace Local Court on October 7 and remanded into custody to reappear in the same court on November 16.
