Port Stephens Council will carry out a $727,000 project on behalf of Roads and Maritime Services to rebuild a one kilometre section of Cabbage Tree Road, east of Masonite Road.
The project is aimed at improving the road surface and reduce ongoing maintenance costs.
The work will be carried out Monday to Friday, starting October 12, between 6am and 6pm and is expected to take about five weeks to complete.
Meanwhile, from Monday a one kilometre stretch of the Pacific Highway north of Raymond Terrace will undergo restoration works.
The NSW Government has allocated $1 million under the NSW Black Spot Program to upgrade the Pacific Highway from one kilometre south of Six Mile Road to Italia Road.
The upgrade will involve installing about three kilometres of wire rope safety barrier in the median and an additional 1.5 kilometres of safety barrier along the shoulder.
The work will be carried out on weekdays between 7am and 5pm.
Work is scheduled to start on October 12 and is expected to take up to three months to complete.
Time estimates for both projects are dependant on weather.
Port Stephens Council was also reminding residents to observe work site speed limits near Williamtown RAAF Base.
Temporary road widening works were being undertaken along Medowie Road, between the Richardson Road and Nelson Bay Road roundabouts.
Motorists are advised to allow extra travel time for all roadwork areas and follow the direction of traffic control and signage.
Temporary lane closures and a reduced 40km/h speed limit will be in place during work hours.
