A Fair Work investigation found that Go-Karts-Go inadvertently failed to pay casual loadings and penalty rates between July 2010, and November 2014, to staff at Nelson Bay, Broadmeadow and Cameron Park.
Individual workers are owed between $43 and $7692.
Go-Karts-Go has apologised for the contraventions and expressed sincere regret for the conduct.
It has also pledged that this won’t happen again.
Go-Karts-Go must not only reimburse the employees but undertake six further steps.
The provisions largely deal with accounting and payroll training.
But Go-Karts-Go must also provide three charity days for the Starlight Children’s Foundation for up to 40 participants.
These enforceable undertakings avoid the need for civil court action under powers given to the Fair Work Ombudsman in 2009.
“They are used where we have formed the view that a breach of the law has occurred, but where the employer has acknowledged this and accepted responsibility,” Fair Work ombudsman Natalie James said.
