Jessica Gavin, an organiser of the markets, said it was hoped residents thought to “shop local” for Christmas and support Port Stephens designers and entrepreneurs.
“We have some beautiful local designers and creatives coming up to the Bay for our Friday, December 11 launch market night,” Ms Gavin said.
“We have tried really hard to have local Port Stephens stallholders.
“There is plenty of talent up there.”
The markets will be set up on the Nelson Bay foreshore, near d'Albora Marinas, from 4pm on December 11 and again on January 8.
The Sacred Tree Markets is a showcase of holistic, artistic, eco- and ethically sustainable products and services.
The ethos for the market appealed to Nelson Bay designer and mother of three Tara Scott who will sell her Three Little Blessings designs for the first time at the December 11 event.
“There’s an authenticity about the Sacred Tree Markets that appeals to me,” Ms Scott said. “It has quite a collaboration of like-minded creative people involved, which builds a community.”
Ms Scott’s children’s designs and small selection of women’s clothing are created using the “psychology and wisdom of colour”.
“They’re products with a purpose,” she said.
Ms Scott said residents and visitors to the area should consider having a look at the December 11 markets for Christmas gift ideas and “support local entrepreneurs”.
“By shopping at the markets you’re helping to support local entrepreneurs, small businesses and creativity while at the same time getting a unique product.”
No two stalls at the markets are the same. Other stalls that will be featured at the markets will be Indah Dream Warrior, Afterglow Handmade, Pussycat & Me and MuzzyMia.
"Each of the stallholders are gems, offering locally made or designed products of exceptional quality,” market owner Ganga Ma said
