THE weather on Christmas day is expected to be perfect for a roast lunch across Port Stephens but not that great for beach goers.

Somewhat cool conditions are forecast with a possible shower in the morning and a maximum of 25 degrees.
“It’s not going to be too hot in the kitchen,” WeatherWatch meteorologist Anthony Cornelius said.
“Overall it should be a fairly pleasant day, with some sunshine in the afternoon, but not hot and nasty.”
The outlook for Boxing Day is mostly dry with only the chance of a shower or two and a top of 27 degrees.
“We’re looking at some isolated storms and showers about the Upper Hunter,” Mr Cornelius said.
“I’m not too sure though that they’ll reach Port Stephens.”
There could be a shower or two on Sunday as well with a maximum of 25 degrees predicted.
Conditions will be similar on Monday but maybe a degree or two cooler.
Tuesday’s rain brought relief to the region after temperatures in the high 30s.
Nelson Bay had received 13mm to 9am on Tuesday morning.
Williamtown recorded 25mm in the same period and a further 10mm by noon Tuesday. That kept the mercury below 20 degrees all morning.
