The boutique festival will star Newcastle’s Catherine Britt, and Bill Chambers - who continues to tour internationally with his daughter Kasey Chambers. 

“It’s a really inclusive, family friendly festival,” artistic director Gleny Rae said.

“Wherever you go there are people playing music.

“The mission of the Lost Highway festival is to create a festival where musicians, residents and music lovers can gather to enjoy acoustic music, share ideas, learn new music skills and enjoy a weekend of performances in a beautiful setting.”

The festival kicks of on Friday, May 6, at 2pm with a walk-up talent quest on the Dolphin Stage. The winner will be invited to perform for 15 minutes at the weekend and be given an invitation to perform at Lost Highway 2017. A bush dance featuring the Lost Highway String Band will start at 6pm.

The headlining acts will take to the stage in the Big Top on Saturday night, but throughout the day a plethora of acts will do their thing across all three stages, including Sunday. 

Some of the talent will be Sprowell, Rose and the Sea, Den Hanrahan and the Rum Runners, Sunny and the Dark Corners, The Three Marketeers, The Martins, Coolgrass and the Plough. 

This year the festival has been weather-proofed and will be located in Aliceton Reserve, Engel Avenue, Karuah.  There will be three stages: Pickers Paradise, the Big Top and the Dolphin Stage. All performances on the Dolphin Stage and entry into the reserve where stalls and markets are located are free. 

In addition to music there will be market stalls, workshops, circus events and food, with bars in Pickers Paradise and the Big Top.
