Beau Richards was named as the Newcastle Permanent’s April community coach of the month while Michael Sloane was named as the banking institution’s volunteer of the month.
Ms Richards and Mr Sloane were both nominated for their respective awards by Medowie Football Club.
In a Facebook post, Medowie Football Club said: “Congratulations to our Newcastle Permanent volunteer of the month Michael Sloane and our Newcastle Permanent coach of the month Beau Richards. Both well deserved and thanks for giving your time.”
The club nominated Ms Richards for the coaching award to recognise her commitment to a number of teams during her time at Medowie FC.
“Beau has shown true dedication to her teams for a significant period of time and the Newcastle Permanent community coach of the month award is well deserved,” Northern NSW Football community football manager, Peter Haynes, commented.
It comes after Medowie FC coach Matt Morris was named as the Newcastle Permanent March community coach of the month.
Newcastle Permanent chief executive officer, Terry Millett, congratulated Ms Richards on the award.
“Coaching plays a vital role in developing the skills and attitude of young players,” Mr Millet said.
“It is great that Newcastle Permanent can provide the opportunity to recognise the efforts of local coaches who are dedicated to developing their players.”
As part of her award, Ms Richards will receive a coaching pack that includes balls, markers, bibs, whistle, polo shirt and cap. The pack is aimed to assist coaches to continue fulfilling their roles.
Newcastle Permanent is the major partner of community football across Northern NSW and has partnered with NNSWF since 2008, supporting its high performance program and junior football program.
The community partnership with Newcastle Permanent includes recognition programs such as volunteer of the month, community coach of the month and community club of the year. Coaches and volunteers are given access to training tools and the bank distributes balls to young players.
