Don White of Weatherwatch said cloud cover over the region on Monday meant the mercury only reached about 13 degrees.
“That was caused by the fact there has been some cool air coming through with some cold changes in the past week or so, and there’s no heat coming from the sun because of this large cloud mass,” he said. “It will move away… and the breeze will pick up a bit, so it will be a bit warmer – up into the high teens rather than the low-to-mid teens of Monday.”
Monday’s snow arrived as a second cold front, sitting further north than the one that yielded snow last Friday, moved through. This week residents can expect 18 degree days around Raymond Terrace and 16-17 degree days towards the Bay.
