You can expect droves of them on Saturday morning to mark six months of parkrun in Raymond Terrace.
“We weren’t sure if it would succeed but we haven’t looked back,” event director Brenton Pobjie said.
The five kilometre run has had participants from as far away as Africa alongside all the regulars since the January launch.
Importantly, there has been no shortage of volunteers – that’s been the been the key.
“Come Wednesday each week our volunteer roster is full,” Mr Pobjie said. “That’s pretty rare even for parkrun.”
Between 100 and 120 runners and walkers meet at 7.45am for the run each week at the gazebo in Riverside Park.
