JUST half of the households in Australia have completed the 2016 census, leading the Australian Bureau of Statistics to urge residents to fill out their form.

The census website, taken down on August 9 after the site was attacked, is back in action. Residents have until mid-September to complete their census.
“If you have not completed the Census, we remind you to complete it as soon as possible,” head of the census program, Duncan Young, said.
“Your information is safe and you won’t be fined for completing it after Census night, but it is important to complete the form either online or in paper as soon as possible.”
The ABS has 38,000 census field officers now working across Australia to visit households. Field officers can also provide houses with a 12-digit login code to complete the census online.
