THE Port Stephens Friendship Group recently held its AGM. Richard Harris, who has been the group’s treasurer for 13 years was elected president. Noel Finch continues the role of vice president for another year.

The new committee is dedicated to the continual promotion of friendships and organising social events at local venues.  Membership of the group stands at 120. A warm invitation is extended to new members. Phone Fran on 4981 0611 for more details.

WE all know of the PCYC, but what do we really know about the organisation? Head to the next Nelson Bay VIEW Club meeting on October 6 and find out. A representative of the Port’s PCYC will be the guest speaker.

The meeting begins at 11am at Soldiers Point Bowling Club. If you are interested in attending, phone Barbara on 4984 2890 by October 3. For $25 you will get a two-course meal and find out about VIEW and also the work carried out by the PCYC.

THE Port Stephens Probus Club welcomed four new members recently, taking its membership to 130. A recent meeting was visited by the Salamander NSWFR who spoke about fire safety in and around the home and their role in the community.

During the past couple of months a small team of members has been instrumental in developing a club website, probusclubofportstephens.org, which has been launched. Current members are being encouraged to contribute photos of Probus activities to assist in keeping the website regularly updated.
