About 90 stakeholders received an update of the NSW DPI and Huon Aquaculture Yellowtail Kingfish project earlier this month.
The mooring grid and anchors for the farm were being dropped into the lease area this week. Further to the stakeholder update, a meeting was held with Dolphin Swim Australia at the mooring construction site at Kooragang to discuss the project. Roads and Maritime Services, with Marine Rescue, have advised mariners of works underway and the presence of the cardinal markers at the lease boundary.
“Recent advice from Office of Environment and Heritage indicates whales will see the orange ropes much better… hence the orange ropes in the mooring grid,” a DPI spokesman said.
