The Rotary club, Port Stephens Council and Corlette Parks Reserves and Landcare Group worked together to establish the exercise trail, which starts in Corlette and finishes in Shoal Bay.
“The current equipment is being well utilised by both the local community and many visitors to the Port Stephens area,” Chris Bartlett from the Rotary club said.
In the past 25 years, more than $250,000 has been raised through the Rotary club’s golf day, its major fundraiser, and reinvested into the Tomaree Peninsula community.
Last year, $20,000 was raised through the golf day, which was used to resurface the main arena at Port Stephens PCYC.
In past years, schools, Port Stephens Community Transport, Tomaree Prostrate Cancer Support Group, surf clubs and Marine Rescue has received golf day money to support their projects.
This year’s event will be held at Nelson Bay Golf Club on Friday, October 7.
A presentation dinner and auction will be held at the Nelson Bay Bowling Club.
Maitland and Port Stephens Toyota has put up a Toyota Yaris for any person that achieves a hole in one on the day.
If there are 10 hole in one’s, 10 cars given away,” Mr Bartlett said.
The club is looking for golfers, either individuals or teams, to play in the event.
The cost is $85 per person which includes a round of golf, the opportunity to share in $3000 worth of prizes and dinner.
